Oncology medicines, made in Africa

Cancer care should not depend on a medicine that never arrives.

Bethesda BioPharma builds dedicated manufacturing for cancer medicines in Africa, so quality treatment is made closer to the people who need it.

We exist to make quality cancer medicines reliably available across Africa.

Across much of the continent, cancer treatment is undermined not only by cost, but by supply. When a shipment is delayed or a stock runs out, a patient's treatment stops with it. Closing that gap is our purpose.

We are a pharmaceutical company building manufacturing capacity to international quality standards. Our aim is simple to state and hard to do: produce essential cancer medicines on the continent, to the same standard patients would receive anywhere, and keep them flowing.

What we do

We take on one of the toughest challenges in healthcare.

Building quality oncology manufacturing where it is needed most, to international standards, so that locally made cancer medicine is trusted and dependable.

Quality, made local

Cancer medicines, manufactured to international standards.

We are establishing pharmaceutical manufacturing designed to meet World Health Organization Good Manufacturing Practice standards. Building to that level from the outset is what makes local production trustworthy rather than a compromise on quality.

Quality first. Quality assurance at the centre of everything we make.
Made closer to the patient. A shorter, more dependable supply.
Built to grow. A platform that adds capability as it matures.
Why it matters

It is more than what we make. It is whether it arrives.

A medicine that is manufactured but never reaches the patient changes nothing. We build for reliability as much as quality, so that treatment keeps arriving for the people who depend on it.

Our technology

Building with the tools that make quality repeatable and affordable.

Manufacturing cancer medicine to international standards, at a cost the region can sustain, is an engineering problem as much as a clinical one. We are designing our platform around a combination of modern manufacturing and data technologies, chosen for what they do for quality, cost and reliability rather than for their own sake.

01

Digital design and simulation

Modelling and testing the facility in a virtual environment before anything is built, so the plant is optimised for flow, quality and cost, and costly surprises are engineered out early.

02

Continuous and modular production

Compact, flexible production designed to run with less waste, a smaller footprint and lower energy use than traditional batch methods, and to scale as demand grows.

03

Real-time quality monitoring

In-line monitoring that watches quality continuously and catches deviations as they happen, rather than at the end of a batch, protecting patients and reducing expensive waste.

04

Secure, traceable data

A tamper-resistant record of manufacturing and supply, so every batch can be verified end to end, counterfeits are designed out, and regulators can be given trusted visibility.

05

Contamination-safe systems

Modern single-use and isolation approaches suited to oncology products, reducing cross-contamination risk and the water and energy that heavy cleaning would otherwise demand.

06

Efficient, greener operation

An emphasis on energy efficiency, resource recovery and a lighter environmental footprint, because a plant that is cheaper to run is also more sustainable and more resilient.
